Melbu Hotell is perfectly placed in Melbu, a small town in the heart of the Lofoten and Vesterålen islands, and is only a stone’s throw from the beautiful and hiking-friendly mountains of Hadseløya. We are always happy to give advice and share with you our favourite places for amazing mountain experiences and stunning panoramas.
We collaborate with several tour and activity providers that organise tours all year round. Melbu is one of the starting points for many of these tours.

Standard double room
Our comfortable standard double rooms come in various shapes and sizes, and feature northern lights and nordic landscape wall art. It is possible to request an extra bed for most of these rooms.
Standard triple room
Our most spacious room of approx.
23 sqm, where two of the three beds are placed beside each other on a low platform.
Ideal for families with children.
Standard single room
Our comfortable single bed rooms are compact in size and feature northern lights wall art. Each room has a desk, TV, kettle and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Ideal for single travellers who are less concerned with the room’s view.
Budget double room
Smaller double rooms overlooking Melbu and the mountains. These rooms, including the en-suite bathrooms, were renovated over the last couple of years. Our budget double rooms have the same equipment as our standard double rooms.
Budget single room
Our smallest room with a newly renovated en-suite bathroom – perfect for solo travellers who are travelling light and intend to use the room primarily to rest and sleep.

Restaurant & Bar
Our region is known for its high quality fish and lamb.
The water temperature is perfect for the cod, which every year comes in large quantities to this region to spawn. In Norwegian we call this cod skrei, and it forms the basis for millions of cod meals of various kinds.
The farmed salmon of Nordlaks, a family-owned company based on Hadseløya, was named “best in test” by TV2’s Food Control. The water quality and the water temperature are two crucial factors that help achieve such a superior product.
The lambs in Vesterålen graze on salty grass pastures along the coastline. As a result, the meat is of outstanding quality and has a unique and exceptional taste.
In our restaurant we primarily use local produce and products. We are passionate about food that reflects our culture and our region.
Our chef has created traditional dishes with exciting and modern twists and we are convinced that a visit to our restaurant will guarantee an unforgettable culinary experience.

- Sommer-Melbu, an annual summer festival which is held over the course of two weeks from the first Friday in July.
- Vesterålen Hiking Festival, which is held in September.
